There are several types of jasmine tea you can prepare yourself rather opting for ready-prepared varieties. Following are some tips for preparing different types of jasmine tea from scratch.

For making a cup of black jasmine tea, firstly you need to boil some water. Next, 1 cup (250ml) boiling water is poured over a tea spoon of loose leaves.  Keep it for 3 to 5 minutes till it finally prepared. Strain it and get the taste of black jasmine tea.

White jasmine tea is prepared by boiling the water at 185F temperature. Then, 1 cup (250ml) boiling water is poured over 2 tea spoons of loose leaves. Boil it for 5 to 8 minutes more. Strain and enjoy.

Oolong tea is prepared by pouring 1 cup (250ml) boiling water over a tea spoon of loose leaves. Boil it for 2 to 3 minutes more and strain. Now it is prepared to have a sip of oolong jasmine tea.

For preparing green jasmine tea, water is boiled at 160F temperature. 1 cup (250ml) boiling water is poured over a teaspoon of loose leaves. Steep it for 1 to 2 minutes and strain.

The green and white varieties of jasmine tea are used to prepare ice tea. After straining, keep it till it is properly cooled. Then add ice and enjoy. Antioxidant concentrations are found more in green and white varieties of jasmine tea than the oolong and black varieties.

Different steeping times are there for each type of jasmine tea. The reason behind this is that steeping too little or too much may make the tea too bitter or too weak.

There are cautions that should be exercised before drinking jasmine tea. Too much jasmine tea should not be consumed by pregnant woman. If consumed in an empty stomach, it may increase the acidity level in the body.
